Power Shift is a collaborative project between the people at 350 Aotearoa, Generation Zero and other individuals.

350 Aotearoa is the New Zealand branch of 350.org, a global movement dedicated to inspiring and uniting communities across the world in action on climate change. Boasting grassroots groups in nearly every country in the world, in recent years 350 has co-ordinated some of the worlds most widespread days of political action, and continues to educate, involve, organise and inspire people in New Zealand and around the world to demand and take action towards a safe climate future for everyone.

The movement gains its name from the science behind our understanding of climate change – 350 parts per million, the safe level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. For more info see their website http://www.350.org.nz/

Generation Zero is a movement of  young New Zealanders committed to mobilising a generation of young people in creating a zero net carbon Aotearoa. Today’s youth are the generation that will build the solution over their working lives. Stemming from a group involved with the New Zealand Youth Delegation to the UN climate conference in Mexico in 2010, Generation Zero now has a wide and active membership of youth across New Zealand.

They’re all about inter-generational justice and work to see effective solutions become part of policy and real life. In the past year and a half Generation Zero have lead a number of successful and influential nationwide campaigns. They also like to take their clothes off on trains, stage fake funerals and have an awesome climate chicken costume. Check out their website http://generationzero.org.nz/
